Introduction
Kshar-sutra procedure is one of the most effective
parasurgical procedure of Ayurveda. This technique of Ayurveda
provides a safe , economical opd treatment to the variety of
diseases including bhagandera, arsha, nadvrana (pilonidal sinuses,
chronic discharging sinuses with osteomyelitis etc) non healing
wounds, anal fissure.
Kshara-sutra is a medicated thread, prepared by applying the
coatings of specific Ayurvedic herbs with latex of snuhi as
a binding agent. This combination of medicines act as a powerful
debridement agent.With the help of the thread these medicines
are excellently delivered at the specific site so as to have
optimum localized effect (unique drug delivery system).
Kshar sutra procedure has already received recognition in the
clinical trials conducted by Indian Council of Medical Research
at AIIMS, PGI, Chandigarh & some other premier medical institutes.
In some diseases they have found KS a more effective & convenient
